Restarting The FTP daemon

Hi

I have a Tivo which is networked.

It will not go out onto the internet

Looking in the /etc/resolv.conf the DNS servers are incorrect.

When I try to edit the file it is read only.

It will not allow me to change the file permission.

I have now shafted the FTP server.

Please can someone assist with how to restart the FTP server and how to
alter the DNS servers

Cheers

Geofff

The filesystem is probably mounted read-only.

Try "mount -o remount,rw /"

Then after you make the changes (you don't need to change permissions,
only make the fs rw), set it back to ro:

"mount -o remout,ro /"

(Don't type the quotes, obviously)
