Directv Tivo recording schedule
We set the new Tivo to record the NASCAR race and it went overtime but
recording stopped at the schedule time. (we didn't see the conclusion of the race) Is there anyway to correct this? (Other that going back to a tape recorder.) -- |

(Other that going back to a tape recorder.) Yes, you can "Pad" the next recording. When you set up the recording, choose "Recording Options" and tell it to "Stop Recording Late" or some such. If you need more info, it's in the manual, or tivo.com, or tivofaq.com. -- Lenroc |

Always pad sporting events by adding an appropriate amount of time to the end of the recording, lest you get screwed by overtime. -- Richard W Kaszeta http://www.kaszeta.org/rich |

(Other that going back to a tape recorder.) You realize that going back to a tape recorder will have the exact same problem. If a show goes overtime and you did not tell the recording device to record past the scheduled end, it will get cut off. The solution for both tape and TiVo is the same: tell the recorder to keep recording past the scheduled end-of-show. -Joe |
