Please explain this ?

This happened late last night so I haven't had a chance to investigate it until
I'm off work today. We recorded a show from the BBC channel. When we played
it back the audio was not in sync with the video. You heard the person
speaking THEN after a second you saw the persons mouth move……it looked like
a bad Japanese movie. I will check the other recordings that we have saved to
see it the same thing happens. But until then, has anyone ever heard or this
happening?? We were not at home when the original recording took place so we
don't know if it was the BBC from the getgo.
thanks

I've seen it happen, on a show I was watching live last night.... so if I had
happened to record it, I assume it would have recorded the same way. Gotta
be a problem with DirecTV feed somehow.

This is not a problem with the feed. I have had this happen a few
times. Usually, stopping the program, switching to live tv and then
resuming play of the recorded program corrects the problem.

It can also happen on live tv, although it's rarer.

I've seen this happen twice (Hughes SD-DVR40 DirectTivo). I've had the
system for about 3 months. (Never had it happen using my old Sony Series
1 stand-alone.)

One time, I went back to the now playing list, then restarted the program
and the synch problem was gone. Apparently a Tivo playback issue, since
the information existed correctly on the hard disc.

The second time, it didn't fix the problem. I replayed the same section
several times, but it was always out of synch in precisely the same way.
After a bit, the audio and video both went out for a few seconds, then
everything came back in synch. It could have been a Tivo problem, but if
so it was somewhat different than the first time I saw it. I concluded
that it was probably a DirectTV issue, but I don't think the evidence is
conclusive.

Coincidentally, one of these occured on BBCAmerica, the other didn't. I
don't remember which was which, though.

This is funny, because I've seen this happen on a channel broadcast in
Dolby. I was recording while it was doing this, but the playback was fine.
