While strolling through alt.video.ptv.tivo, Austen was overheard
plotting: I have a Philips TiVo unit that I installed with a Comcast Motorola DCT 2244 digital cable box. I cannot make the TiVo change to a 3 digit channel through the IR blasters. Whenever I put in a 3 digit channel on the TiVo, the cable box only recognizes the 2nd two digits. i.e. 321 would turn into 21, and 201 would change to 01. Comcast has told us that the serial ports are not enabled on these boxes (in Richmond, VA) so I'm stuck with the IR blasters. I never have a problem changing to a 2 digit channel, and I've tried the blasters from every angle. So it's not a reception problem. Yes, I've made sure to use the 3 digit cable box option in TiVo setup, and I've tried every model and code for the cable box. Even ones that may be remotely compatible do the same thing. I switched out the cable box for a new one and had the same problem. Then I even got another TiVo unit to try and still had the problem. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please!!! Once again, I've already tried: new cable box new TiVo all different angles for the IR blaster all different codes and speeds for the corresponding cable box (as well as compatible ones) the 3 digit setup option (as well as the 2 digit, just to test) trying the enter option on and off after TiVo sends the channel change Nothing will get me to the 3 digit channels unless I manually change the TiVo and then the cable box with the original remote! HELP!!! Philips support was no help, TiVo support was no help, and Comcast support was no help. PLEASE someone give me a solution!! Thanks, Austen Amacker Google is your friend: http://tinyurl.com/3fouw -- David |
Sounds like you picked the wrong code when programmed the remote control for
your Motorola box. If I remember correctly the right code is 10042. It should be the last one listed. "Austen" wrote in message om...
