Antenna & Cable on same coax? by [email protected]
HI, wondering if I can run cable and antenna signal on same coax. My house is wired to 4 tv's from the antenna. If I get cable (May have a 4 storey building put up across the street :(, and I will lose half my stations). I like the hdtv off the antenna, so as no to have to rewire the house...

Pace DVRs are a POS! by Strongbox
Damn, I have to re-boot my Pace TDC778X DVR every 2-3 days when it freezes up. My old Tivo ran for months without problems. The cable guy said it's working fine. Are these things just made cheap so the cable suppliers will buy them?

RG6 or RG6 quad shield for antenna run? by [email protected]
I installed a Channel Master 2016 antenna on my roof I now need to run coax from it to the inside of house.... about 50 feet I think Is RG6 quad shield the better choice over plain RG6 in most cases? The price diff isn't that much actually. If yes, why?

blu ray burner drive - PIONEER BDR-202BK - problem by MZ
Hello! I have a problem with Pioneer BDR-202BK blu ray burner. I used Pinnacle 12 Ultimate to burn presentation on BD-RE (Verbatim & Sony) discs. When I insert (after burning) this disc into the Pioneer BDR-202BK burner it looks like it would be no data burnt on the disc. Autostart is launching...

Best solution for Digital Cable in my office? by jtpryan
I have a 22" monitor on my desk that I would like to use as an occasional TV. As I see it there are basically 2 ways I can go: 1. Put another cable box in my office 2. Get a TV card for my computer. If I go with #1 Comcast will charge me $6.95 / month. Not the end of the world, but I would like...

Los Angeles PSIP by David Harmon
KTLA is supposed to be virtual channel 5.1 on real channel 31. Instead I get no 5.1, and manual tuning to 31 gets me KTLA as virtual 31.3. Why is that? KCET gives program information on 28.2, 28.3, and 28.4. None on 28.1. Why is that? (On my new Zenith DTT-901)

Sony BDP S350 vs BDP BX1 - There IS a difference . . . maybe by Richard Cranium
I thought the definitive answer (NOT!) on this subject would be better disseminated as an individual topic rather than be buried in the original thread. Sony BluRay players, models BDP S350 and BDP BX1 After receiving assurance from one Sony source that the two models are identical followed by...

DVR/DVD burner primer by Richard Harison[_2_]
I am interested in a DVR. My satellite provider (StarChoice--Canada) offers an HD dandy, but it is $600. I would be satisfied with SD with or without a DVD burner as well. (Pioneer had one available a little while ago but they seem to have gotten out of the game entirely). Sony had an HD...

Cable and Satellite Sales Reps Spreading Disinformation about the Digital Switchover by whosbest54[_2_]
As evidenced by some of the recent questions I’ve seen in usenet and elsewhere, I suspected the cable and satellite sales reps were spreading disinformation about the digital switchover so they can sell more services to callers. So, I called them to see if that was the case. In most instances...

Shopping for Blu-Ray by Howard Brazee
My wife's getting me a Blu-Ray for Christmas. She'd rather spend $200 than $300 or more, but doesn't know whether the $300 are really worth an extra $100 (but then she'd rather watch channel 7 which she can find easily than memorize the Comcast version way away from her normal browsing...
