Toppy 5800 free of charge by
Mark Carver
I am having a major clear out.
I can't bring myself to take my Toppy 5800 PVR to the tip. Impossible to
sell, it's only DVB-T1, SD, and has only analogue audio and video
interfaces. Been in my loft since 2013, but I had it running yesterday,
seems fine still.
Anyway, if anyone is likely to...

Laser Levels (again) by
Java Jive[_3_]
I can't seem to find a reasonably-priced laser device, say £50 or under,
that will do both ...
Measure distances
Throw out a cross beam
(horizontal & vertical, preferably self-levelling)
.... and has good reviews in Amazon, B&Q, Screwfix, ToolStation, etc.
Is there such a beast?
I've seen,...

Someone posted a query about this not too long ago,
and I don't recollect anyone coming up with an
explanation...

Panasonic DMR-HWT 150 by
Laurence Taylor
Greetings good people.
I have been given a Panasonic DMR-HWT150 PVR.
It works well but the only output is HDMI, Does anyone know if it's
possible to get composite video (and audio) out of it? I've looked
inside and nothing on the PCB looks obvious.
Does that sort of signal exist anywhere in it...

So I downloaded the app and tried to play the AD version of a documentary, I
in the end had to backtrack to a list of ad stuff then find it from there,
but on the web site I just search for the prog, go to the play page and go
down and there is an option to watch with AD I click that move up to...

Recommendations for Freeview PVR these days? by
larkim
For the last few years I've been an EE TV subscriber as I needed a digibox
as my 3view (!) boxes really had died a death.
The box you get with EE is genuinely great - permanent 24 hour recording of
a multiplex (so I get 24 recording of all main channel HD), a 1TB disc,
record a further two...

TOT (Analogue Radio) by
Chris Holmes
Hi All,
When our famous (mentioned in despatches on uk.d-I-u)
Sony Midi system lived about 3 miles from CP, I put a passive splitter on the TV aerial download and connected one side to FM in on the Sony’s tuner (can’t remember exactly how (ie, just inner, or what). And got a great signal. ...

COM7&8 on Crystal Palace by

Hi,
I just moved into my new house and (as I have been relying on Freesat at the
previous one) had to by a new HD receiver for my "HR Ready" TV.
When I tuned it in, it found all of the channels on COM7&8 but when I select
them they are dark.
I am 3-4 miles away from the transmitter, so...

DSO - confusing implementation by

I've mentioned before I'm on the Nottingham relay transmitter.
At the end of last month I got loads of channels and I thought "Great,
no need to change the aerial". A couple of days later the commercial
channels suffered. Now I find that their power will be boosted on
next week, (MUX2), only...
