Freesat EPG by PeterC
Anybody else noticed that the EPG is only 4 - 5 days for all all of the 5 and all of the 4 channels? Everything else is OK, but there are big gaps as I scroll down. -- Peter. The gods will stay away whilst religions hold sway

Queen's Birthday thing at RAH by Bill Wright[_3_]
I've been able to see very faint large text scrolling across the screen during the performance. I caught the words Happy Birthday. Is it deliberate? Bill

New BBC Scotland (maybe one for Mark) by Scott[_4_]
I see Ofcom has approved in principle a new BBC Scotland TV service: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-43837258 Digging deeper, I see it will also be available on HD: https://www.a516digital.com/2018/03/bbc-scotland-channel-plans-to-go-hd.html I take it, if it is replacing CBBC and BBC...

iPlayer downloads now only being offered in sd1? by Johnny B Good[_2_]
Not one of my Saturday night's selection of downloads included any hd1 (1280 by 720) offerings. Every single last one being sd1 (960 by 540). Some were expected to be sd1 such as "Dad's Army" and "Insect Worlds" whilst recently made programmes that would typically be available in hd1 format...

Finally the retune by Brian Gaff
I now have, at least for now a working remote again. The gunge has been cleaned out and some ally contacts glued to the buttons instead of the decaying gunge. I did the retune indeed the retune has actually resulted in fewer stations but none are missing so one assumes a lot of the dead stuff...

weirdness with speakers etc by Bill Wright[_3_]
Last night as we watched the telly I became aware that the sound was distorted. It was only slight but it was annoying. After Hil took off into the kitchen to watch Emmerdale and Corrie I was free to investigate. The sound was fine from the left speaker but there was a strange raspy roughness...

satellite navigation by Pinnerite
Until July I ran a 15 year old S-Type Jaguar. It's satnav was considerably out of date. When I checked with Jaguar they wanted £150 for a new disc. A couple of years later I found a site that did one year old ones for £25. That was fine and worked very well. I had to sell the Jag (I kept...

Crystal Palace Issues by John[_33_]
I dutifully retuned, and was shocked to find a load of channels missing! Especially annoying was the loss of BBC News HD and BBC Four HD. As explained elsewhere, two multiplexes have migrated from their Group A homes to UHF 55 and 56. Given that London has had its channels in Group A for years...

Gotham by Jeff Layman[_2_]
For those who have been missing Gotham, Series 4 starts tonight on E4 at 2100. Of course, it will all be a bit confusing as Channel 5 never showed Series 3. That was aired on Netflix last year - so those watching on Freeview/Freesat and haven't got Netflix will have a bit of catching up to do....

Retune for Ch. 10 by Davey
Usually, when there is a retune needed, I see warnings for a few days beforehand. But last night, with no warning, we were told to retune if we wanted to continue to watch Ch. 10, ITV3. I did, and it worked. This is for Tacolneston. I tried another TV set this morning, and got the same...

Has Com78 National (Ch56) from Rowridge changed? by Jeff Layman[_2_]
A couple of weeks ago I posted that for some reason my Panasonic PVR could still pick up Com78 on CH56 using the Group A 18-element loft aerial. Under the same conditions, the Panasonic TV couldn't see Com78. Yesterday (before retuning to get the 4 April changes), I had a look at the Com78...

Humax freeview to freesat by Mike
Hi all, havin had a Humax freeview receiver for some years now (and being very satisfied with it) I decided to get a Humax sat receiver (Foxsat -HDR). This new (to me) box seems really slow to respond when in Freesat mode (just changing up and down channels and along the timeline). So slow, in fact...

from another group by Bill Wright[_3_]
30 valves, 400watts, took two men to carry, then they had to spend half an afternoon setting up the convergence. But it was affected by the earth's magnetic field so if the customer moved the set at all it all had to be done again. I'm so glad I lived long enough to escape from all that 1960s...
