CRT beats Plasma or LCD by Chris Skrimshire
In a quest for a new (32") TV, supposing I decide to go for a CRT on the grounds that picture quality advantages over LCD are too small or non-existant to justify the extra cost (though maybe I could review when HD is here next year, and prices have fallen), what models would people recommend?

DV or not DV, that is the question? by Ed
Please can someone tell me, or point me to reliable evidence of, the difference in quality I will experience if backing up miniDV camcorder tapes onto DVD using a dv firewire, s-vhs, or composite connection. Some people say minimal, others say noticeable. Regular viewers will have noticed I am in...

sony vpl w400 lcd projector by nntp.pipex.com
I bought a second hand one of these about 18 months ago and although it's had little use - about 100 hours - all it will give is a red/pink screen with SVid, composite and component input. Is this the lcd panel giving up the ghost and if so, is it worth getting it repaired. Thanks in advance

HDMI dvd question by The Cardboard Voord
Can decks such as the Samsung one which plays divx and also up rezzes to HDMI for HD sets play HR divx files at higher than 480 lines? I would put money on the answer being "no" but it was worth an ask.

Plasma TV Fan Noise... by [email protected]
I own a 42" Norcent HD plasma TV. I've had it for about 6 months and I'm very pleased with the video quality. However, the cooling fan noise varies and is sometimes distracting. Is there a fix for this problem?

I have just bought my first AV (Audio/Visual) receiver, a Yamaha RX-V357. I have connected up the sound, and can now get my TV, Sky, DVD and VCR through the six speakers. But I am having trouble understanding the benefit of putting the picture through the Receiver. Currently all the devices...

Should a 2000 TV automatically adjust for aspect ratio? by [email protected]
I recently purchased a Samsung 42" plasma (PS42S5H) but each time I switch between channels on my Sky+ box, I have to manually tell the TV how to display the image - 4:3 or 6:9. I found that I was constantly switching between aspect ratios to get the TV to display the image correctly (not squeezed...

Plasma vs. LCD vs CRT by Chris Skrimshire
Dear all, I suspect this may have been done to death (and if so, apologies) and I daresay there is no clear cut answer, but I am new to this debate and need to make a decision on a new TV very soon. It will be a 32" set. Some arguments that I'm vaguely aware of a-

Philips or Toshiba by Gary
I am torn between two LCDs, the Philips 32pf9967 and tosh 32wlt58, both have pros and cons over the other but both would meet my requirements. Primary use for watching 'normal tv' and Sky+ with occasional DVD. Any comments on which is best? Cheers Gary

LCD TV recommendations please by Ed
Hi there As per previous thread where my panasonic tv is about to expire, perhaps I'll jump on the LCD/Plasma bandwagon. I only want 32" maximum, have small living room so dont want it to take over the house, so LCD seems the likely option. I also presume I should get one that is HD ready, but...
