Sky+, so advanced yet... by Sonars UK
....annoyingly as primitive as a video recorder, I hope I understand this correctly and am not making fool of myself, but... I think it's a marvellous feature that a sky + box can receive a message via satellite that tells it if programs are running late and then it alters recording times to...

Sky + - can existing card be re-enabled? by Gav
Hi, what's the procedure for upgrading to a Sky+ box outside of doing it through Sky? ie: Could I simply buy a Sky+ somewhere and re-mate the card to the it (like you can do with a normal digibox) or I would I need to call Sky, tell them I got a Sky+ box and ask them to send a new card? Gav

Sky Movie channels? by Tumbleweed
Was there a rumour recently about Sky rearranging their movie channels in some way? I'm thinking of resubscribing but if there is some rearrangement coming I'll wait until then. -- Tumbleweed Remove theobvious before replying (but no email reply necessary to newsgroups)

Saturday Night Live on Paramount by John W
Does anyone know how Paramount is showing Saturday Night Live? Have they bought the lot? Are they showing them in order? If so, what year are they up to (I guess its still around 1975)? I want to see an episode from 1982 so I'm trying to work out how not to miss it if its ever on... a. (yes I...

SKY News is now unwatchable by Pea Soup
First of all, there were the audio whooshes whenever they invaded the screen with News Flashes Now they have the continuous ticker, which is very distracting I have switched to News 24, much less annoying, though the BBC emphasis on foreign News is still too much.

Sky+ In Ireland by Thomas
Just wondering has anyone in Ireland gotten Sky+ installed yet? The advertising for it has started, but most of the Sky dealers still seem to be in the dark about the whole thing!

Just ordered Sky+ and have a couple of questions. by Sonars UK
Hi, I received my monthly copy of the Sky magazine and was tempted by the Sky+ offer (£199 for the box, £50 for installation and no £10 monthly subscription fee) so I've gone ahead and ordered it - it's being installed next Wednesday (8th Oct). I just have a couple of questions: Is there...

Sky+ 5.1 - Enigma Friday 17th by Nigel
I started recording Enigma (8:00pm Friday 17th October) and just sat down to watch it using the time slip watch and record at the same time capability. The film is in 5.1 - the sync of the audio and video signals is terrible. Maybe 0.5 to 1.0 seconds out. Makes it look like a badly dubbed...

I ordered my Sky+ box on th 2nd October with the special £1 installation offer. I have to wait for the special "high installation team" to contact me to arrange installation. No problem with that as my dish is on my chimney. However nearly three weeks later and I haven't heard a thing from...

Sky Digital viewing Cards by flipper
I see that a few people are selling second hand Sky Digital Viewing cards on Ebay. (the cards presumably being the 'version 2' with a yellow graphic of a house on the front, etc). Is this the best way to get hold of one? Or are there cheaper methods (short of stealing ;-) ? All I want one for is...

Whats the deal with ITV,C4, etc now? by GH
So we had all the crack with ITV,C4,C5 disappearing from our sets unless you had a subscription card. Fox News Weather by Brendan DJ Murphy
Dont ask me why, but I occassionally watch Fox News on Sky Digital (531)! When the channel breaks for commercials, viewers outside America see weather-charts for various regions around the world. I assume the numbers on the chart relate to temperature, but something must be wrong. For example: ...
